THE UTOPIATES - The Utopiates are back and set to release the first single from their forthcoming 2nd album ‘Neighbourhood’ after a 6-month hiatus! London-based rising indie-electronic outfit The Utopiates return with ‘Neighbourhood’. The first single to be taken from the, as-of-yet, unnamed second album set for release in late 2025. Following on from the recent success of their debut album ‘The Sun Also Rises’(TSAR) (released in May 2023) The Utopiates are out to prove they are one of the most prolific new bands out there at the minute. Signed to V2 Records they’ve spent the first part of 2024 recording and mixing 11 brand new tracks at The Nave in Leeds (Yard Act, Kaiser Chiefs) and are ready to hit the ground running in September with their outstanding, tour-de-force of a song ‘Neighbourhood’. Singer, Dan, says of the new song and the 2nd album project as a whole: ‘We’ve always been a band that likes to mix it up and look to loads of different influences in the music we write. Since our inception (in 2021) we’ve been labelled New Wave, Baggy, 90s Revival and even (New) Nu-Rave! But our mantra has always been ‘let’s make people move’ and that won’t change just yet. So, we’re stcking with the ‘big-guitar groove’ label Steve Lamacq once gave us but this tme around we’re looking a litle more in the directon of New York rather than Manchester, while borrowing slightly from our post-punk counterparts in some of the producton. We chucked the kitchen sink at TSAR. We went all out for that big sound and proved we can nail the psychedelic meandering solos and instrumentals. Josh has nothing else to prove, he’s got the chops! We’re just getng to the point a litle bit quicker now, unlike this press statement!’ Neighbourhood itself is an angry assessment of society’s double standards and what we’ve let ourselves grow used to in the last 15 years or so. We’re asking for a change in attitude, and we think it reflects the mood of the nation right now, 100%.’ [embed]https://open.spotify.com/artist/3hDHh6cKfOoXDRShFJiyBT?si=TayH-MYSSu2s4sCVlb2CsA[/embed] ROLO VANGO - Formed in London with international roots, this Rolo Vango made a big impact in 2023 with a debut studio album release and three Sold Out headline shows. The Musical intention of the band has grown further this year as the band established themselves as a collective live band including new artists. Original members (Lead Singer) Rosie O'Regan, (Lead Singer) Jack Lower and (Pianist) Yago Fernandez were joined by the talented musical forces of (Guitarist) Matias Dal Pos. (Drummer) James Brennan and (Bassist) Will Turner. The band kicked off 2023 with their first live gig together, supporting Tom Odell at a charity event in Hackney. Since then they have played multiple headline shows building their fan base and selling out venues in and outside of London. Hackney's Paper Dress Vintage in March and a further 2 sold out shows at The Horn in St Albans. Drawing on the collective's eclectic music interests and instrumental expertise, Rolo Vango took to Abbey Road to record their next project which has its audience poised for release in 2024, alongside a headline slot at The Lexington in April. Both singers and songwriters, Rosie and Jack, introduce themselves throughout their music, reflecting on their past whilst also looking to the future, "rediscovering the powerful art of the duet". Fusing elements of pop, rock and punk, there’s an eclectic mix of inspirations. INXS to IDLES, Primal Scream to Prince, it's captivating and charismatic. With Jones’ ability to catch you off guard through personal and honest lyricism, there’s no lack of emotional edge to an otherwise dynamic and electric performance.
