Sweet Unrest with The Howling Fiends and Wild Talk live at The Shacklewell Arms

SWEET UNREST- Sweet Unrest was born in 2022 out of an undeniable musical chemistry. The band fuses psych-garage rock with the bangeriness of pop tunes, and are fueled by the shared mission of creating the greatest art possible. Marlo’s natural ear for a banger is met by Jack’s broody lyrics and writhing performance. Tom’s punk-punk influence injects the sound with an unignorable urgency, and Dan’s heavy drumming drives it all towards a crashing and energetic catharsis.

One way or another, each song is a journey from the sensitive to the exasperated and insane. Sweet Unrest have played everywhere from coffee shops and basements, to sharing the bill with Carl Barat at Amersham Arms and Republica at the O2 Academy Islington. Sweet Unrest comes from a line in Bright Star, a poem by Jack’s favourite poet, Keats. It also seems to epitomise the musical style: a love for beautiful melodies but also for a gut punching heaviness.

THE HOWLING FIENDS - The Howling Fiends are a psych garage punk band based in south east London. No one knows when they were formed, rumours have it they are going since 1967 and that Dimi (vocals/guitar) is a vampire of some sort. Current line up formed beginning of 2023 with new members Mel (synth), Alex (bass) and Steve (drums) showing signs of being vampirised (the process of becoming an immortal, blood thirsty, day sleeping creature of some sort) Expect rock n roll to die for! WILD TALK - Wild Talk elegantly straddles the line between gritty rock revelry and fizzy pop confections, leaving audiences simultaneously caught between shaking their hips and thrashing their hair. With arena ready anthems and a revelrous live show, Wild Talk leave first timers jonesing for more.
