Stone Jets is a London-based band originally from South Africa, known for blending feel-good vibes with rhythmic soul and pop sensibilities. The band consists of Given Nkanyane (bass and vocals), Manfred Klose (guitar), and Adrien Latgé (drums). They have a uniquely simple yet substantial melodic songwriting style and are known for their lively performances.
Hastings born singer-songwriter Poppy Prescott draws even the rowdiest of crowds to silence with her soft soulful vocals and folk-style storytelling. Growing up surrounded by musicians, Poppy begun performing live long before she was allowed to be hanging around music venues. Although the project goes under her name, it’s collaborative at heart. She plays in shifting setups with her five bandmates (think saxophone and banjo), but the centre stays the same: a songwriter drawing equally from the folk tradition of John Martyn, Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell and the sharp honesty of contemporary artists like Adrianne Lenker, Billie Marten and Lianne La Havas. Over the past year she’s co-headlined a tour across London and the South East, sold out The Troubadour, and played festivals including WOMAD. Her music has been praised on BBC Radio 6 Music and she’s been awarded both the Creative Access x McLaren bursary and a scholarship to Richard Thompson’s New York guitar camp. New music is on the way this autumn, though the best introduction remains her live shows – understated, open, and charming.
The Snug is an intimate 45-capacity performance space within Hyde Park Book Club, a live music and arts venue in Leeds. Located on Headingley Lane in a converted former petrol station, this versatile room hosts acoustic gigs, open mic nights, spoken word, comedy, and talks. It provides a relaxed, community-focused setting for emerging artists, local performers, and intimate touring shows alongside the venue's main space.
