Gotobeat is excited to present MULIMBA live at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney on Wednesday 29th October, marking his first headline show in three years.
Returning after a two-year hiatus for a period to reset and make music, MULIMBA unveils "Everything”, which will be released on 9th July on Daily Records and marks his comeback. The British-Zambian’s genre-blending career constantly delivers Hip Hop-inspired gospel beats with Daft Punk-style hooks, providing one of the most aggressively original soundscapes for his indie vocals to shine on. A true alternative indie artist, he has his hands firmly wrapped around a sound that he’s spent his whole life curating. After being relentless in the studio over the last few years, MULIMBA has several songs ready to go, as well as music with the Gorillaz, Kneecap, and Louis VI collaborator Jelani Blackman. Everything up to this point, he has been researching and developing for these very tracks. To understand MULIMBA, consider the artists he has opened for: Friendly Fires, Tom Walker, and Elderbrook. Along with playing festivals in Europe and selling out solo headline shows at The Old Blue Last and Camden Assembly, this all offers a small glimpse into his potential and ambition. With a few bespoke festivals coming up this summer, MULIMBA’s first headline show in nearly three years will be at Paper Dress Vintage on Wednesday 29th October.

She is also currently recording her debut album and regularly performs as a singer at various venues across the UK. Steven Bamidele is a Nigerian-born, London-based singer, songwriter, musician and producer. His isolated upbringing has shaped the introspective nature of his songwriting, which pairs with his distinctive reverb-drenched falsetto, synth textures, and syncopated beats to create a forward-thinking soulful sound. Citing the influences of contemporary musical storytellers and genreless creators such as Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator, to Solange, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, Steven puts social commentary and artistic narratives at the forefront of his music.
