Liya Shapiro is a London-based singer, songwriter and storyteller crafting raw, evocative soundscapes that blur the line between dream pop, alternative rock and post-punk. With hauntingly melodic vocals and poetic lyricism, she explores love, identity and human emotion through a cinematic lens—where beauty and darkness coexist. Her debut single, The Thing, introduced audiences to her sound: brooding yet hypnotic, with eerie synths and post-punk grit. Follow-up single Rose Garden pulled listeners into a haze of nostalgia, weaving themes of time, youth and longing into woozy guitars and melancholic melodies. Drawing inspiration from the introspective storytelling of Lana Del Rey, PJ Harvey’s raw intensity and the emotional depth of Mitski, Liya’s music thrives on contrasts—intimate yet expansive, delicate yet powerful. Each song feels like a confessional, inviting listeners to find pieces of their own stories in hers. Now, with her upcoming EP, Liya ventures even deeper, refining her sonic world into something both intimate and immense.
