Who is Evrencan Gündüz? Evrencan Gündüz was born in 1996 in Kadıköy, Istanbul. Inspired by blues legends like Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, and B.B. King. He picked up the guitar at 14, teaching himself classical guitar through online tutorials and friends. At 15, his father gifted him an electric guitar, helping him expand his skills. He also gained stage experience performing alongside his father. At 16, he started as a street musician and formed his first band, T-Blues, performing at festivals and concerts. He played on ferries until live performances were banned.

In 2017, he released his debut EP, Evrencan Gündüz ve Uzaylılar, followed by Mevsim Çiçekleri (2018), Bu Toprakların Sesleri (2019), and Sabah Şarkıları, showcasing his unique blend of blues, rock, and Turkish folk. With his band Uzaylılar, he continues to release music and deliver high-energy performances.

Bertug Cemil’s professional music career began in 1992 while studying Journalism in Istanbul. From a young age, he was deeply passionate about poetry and songwriting. A self-taught guitarist and singer, he gained extensive stage experience before releasing his debut album.

In 2006, his first album Duygusal Tuzaklar was released by TMC Music and became a significant success. His song Yağmur quickly became a classic, and remains a source of pride. Shortly after, Yandım Yandım Yandım—his first duet—reached No. 1 on the charts and marked another milestone in his career.

Over the following years, he released several albums including Geldim Gördüm Sevdim, Korel’in Rüyası, and Issız.

Since moving to London in 2017, Bertug’s musical journey has taken new shape. During the pandemic, he returned to producing and releasing music for his Turkish audience. Following six singles, he launched a new project titled Akustik Öyküler (“Acoustic Stories”)—featuring acoustic duet versions of his previously released songs. The project’s first two singles, Gel Bana (with Çisil Egeli) and Yandım Yandım Yandım (with Begüm Yiğit), were released by Pasaj Müzik.

With a consistent flow of creative output, Bertug is now preparing to share both Akustik Öyküler and its electric counterpart BC Yeniden with listeners, continuing to evolve his sound while staying rooted in heartfelt songwriting.
