Emerging from the crossroads of electronic music, dream pop, ambient soundscapes and post-rock, Italian artist Coca Puma brings her magnetic universe to Europe in January 2026, with a series of intimate shows across Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Groningen and London.
Her debut album, Panorama Olivia, is a ten-track collection that moves fluidly between ethereal textures and darker, more melancholic tones. Written and produced over the course of three transformative years, the record is an exploration of experimentation, introspection and creative urgency. It bridges two distinct worlds: the artist’s urban life in Rome and the quiet refuge of a home nestled among volcanic tuff and trees in the Treja Valley. The album’s symbolic anchor is Olivia, a cat who lends her name to a work suspended between reality, memory and dream.
Born in Rome in 1998, Coca Puma (real name Costanza Puma) is an eclectic artist with nu-jazz roots, a metropolitan edge and a deep resonance with nature. With her signature cap pulled low, she crafts a sonic dimension entirely her own, blending delicate vocals and detailed textures into immersive atmospheres. Her passion for Brazilian music and her more recent dive into electronic production coexist both in her DJ sets and in her interest in the relationship between sound and image.
Panorama Olivia, anticipated by the singles “Porta Pia” and “Tardi,” showcases her fully realized musical vision, from composition to production, mixing and sound design. The album shifts between electronic and acoustic elements, from minimal, suspended moments to explosive climaxes driven by pulsing rhythms and immersive crescendos. Spoken-word intros lead into deep synths and straight kick drums (“Porta Pia,” “Notte”). Distorted drums and drum&bass inflections (“Non ci penso”) open the door to darker, heavier electronics (“Tappeto”). Aqueous synths (“Lupo Volkswagen,” “Interludio Isola”) rise from drum machines toward a luminous finale (“Come vuoi”), forming a complex yet perfectly balanced flow.
Her voice—soft, at times whispered, but emotionally powerful—appears with restraint, often allowing instrumental sections to take the narrative lead, as heard in “Tardi,” “Non ci penso,” “Notte” and “Come vuoi.”
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Jockstrap, Crumb, Kelly Lee Owens and Eliza, Coca Puma delivers lyrics that are intimate and intuitive. “It’s difficult to define where my writing begins or how it develops,” she explains. “It all happens on its own, in moments where I feel no control. It’s as if I become an antenna.” The album navigates fears and desires (“Porta Pia”), fleeting happiness (“Lupo Volkswagen”), unconscious landscapes between dream and reality (“Notte,” “Interludio Isola”), the pull of change (“Tardi”) and emotional complexity (“Come vuoi”).
With Panorama Olivia, Coca Puma invites listeners into a free, cathartic journey—toward the brightest, most ethereal space where sound becomes pure sensation.
