CHAR is an alternative indie rock artist, based in Leeds. Her sound encapsulates elements of 90’s indie rock, with gritty vocal melodies, not dissimilar to the likes of Wolf Alice and Sunday 1994. Her deeply personal lyricism details the turbulence of young adulthood, relationships with oneself and others, self-exploration and other topics that often feel difficult to discuss. Channelling the likes of Florence Road, Fletcher, Radiohead and Mazzy Star, she has crafted an evolving soundscape for listeners to indulge in, and is certainly one to watch amongst the lineup of new alternative artists.
jeanine are characterised by their stream of consciousness style lyricism inspired by folk pioneers like Elliott Smith and Carol King. They are comparable to artists within the new wave of indie bands. “Imagine if Backseat Lovers (and) King Krule… somehow had a child together: that’s the world that jeanine seems to find themselves in” - Upcoming Network 2026. In May of 2025, they released their debut EP: Back Home, which was commemorated with a launch party event. They have supported Glossy Boy and Roscoe and will be joining more of their favourite artists to play bigger and better venues across the UK.
‘gibberish’ are a 4-piece alternative rock band based in Leeds, UK, taking sonic influence from the vast UK alternative rock scene. They create a grungy yet
ethereal sonic space both live and on recordings, crafting a balance of driving guitar tones and melodic lead lines with introspective and emotive lyrics. The band have been playing together throughout various projects since 2021 and continue to work together on this new project: gibberish.
