Gotobeat is thrilled to announce the Manchester debut of Buzz' Ayaz on the 29th of September at Band on the Wall.
Hailing from Nicosia, Cyprus, this project led by Antonis Antoniou – founder of Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke – brings a fresh mix of Eastern Mediterranean psychedelia, rock, and blues. Their dynamic sound features tribal-like drumming, fierce bass clarinet riffs, and a blend of synth textures and dubby electronics. Vice.com described their music as a "fuzzy urban soundscape," while Metalinvader.net praised their "21st-century sonic universe with a strong local identity and tang."
The band uses folk elements to create a contemporary mosaic reflecting the culture and politics of Nicosia, a city divided by Greek and Turkish influences. Their music aims to give voice to the whole city, transcending its barriers
