After the success of our inaugural event - An Evening of Film and Art.

GoToBeat are delighted to announce: 

“Gloomy” Sunday - a joyous summer Sunday showcasing thrilling shorts by up-and-coming flourishing filmmakers. 

In partnership with The Nickel Cinema. An independent, exclusive, and new fully licensed small scale ‘grind-house’ cinema on Clerkenwell Road. This Hour Long programme features short-films from exciting burgeoning filmmakers. We are delighted to be showing - recent graduates of the National Film and Television School and a collection of diverse shorts hot off the festival circuits. 

There are two screenings of the programme. A matinee showing - starting at 3pm, and the evening showing - 7pm. 

Downstairs, there is a perfectly fitted vinyl listening room and bar, where the music from upstairs will seamlessly flow - as will the drinks. 

To score the event - a carefully chosen playlist will be spun on Vinyl. In this 70s/80s mix, expect to hear: Elvis Costello, The Associates, David Bowie, Echo and The Bunnymen, Roxy Music and many more. The high quality sound system will seamlessly flow throughout the space from the intimate screening room - to the underground bar - where drinks and filmic discourse is encouraged. 

Also available to purchase will be Nickel Cinema’s own expansive collection of rare physical media: vinyl soundtracks, film literature, lobby cards, original screenplays, memorabilia. Also available, is exciting and brand new limited edition Blank Generation Merchandise!
