A band weary of the internet and social media, yet formed on those very platforms. AV Dummy began with rapper BUCHANAN and producer/composer Christy Carey bonding online, sharing a mutual dissatisfaction with not just bland, unchallenging music made to conform to algorithmic preferences and pre-existing biases, but also with cultural conformity in general.
Working across different cities, their working process is a burst of creative energy expressed through voice memos, phone calls, text messages, and sporadic recording sessions - a feeling that translates to their erratic sonic compositions. Now taking form as a full band, they are joined by Jerome Johnson on drums and Sat Chatterji on bass.
OSCAR MIC - Produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes), Oscar Mic is a band that twists you into new shapes. A drummer with a sampler and a singer with a guitar and looper, a bass player with a chip on his shoulder strap. Mixing garage punk and rap with choruses and hooks that nestle deep into your brain!
