About Gotobeat
Gotobeat uses AI-driven, event-driven software to make live music fairer and more profitable for everyone involved. We help emerging artists earn more, venues fill more seats, and promoters spend more time building real relationships—not wrestling with admin. Our platform spans planning, promotion and post-show follow-up, backed by an AWS serverless stack, data pipelines in Python, and cutting-edge LLM tooling.
Why this role matters
Promoters, venues and artists run their entire business on Gotobeat: booking, deals, marketing spend, door scanning, settlement. That work used to live in spreadsheets and inboxes, and we are replacing it with software and agentic AI that does the admin for them. We are hiring one engineer to lead that product category and grow it from zero to millions of users. It is real ownership—you decide what to build, you ship it, and you own the number that comes back. We expect to grow very fast over the next twelve months, and this surface is where that growth is won or lost.
What you'll do
- 35% Own the promoter dashboard and the artist tooling end to end—events, ticketing, deals, settlement and reporting—on our Remix/React and AWS serverless stack.
- 20% Take a brand-new B2B product category from zero to millions of users: you set the roadmap, you ship weekly, you report the metric.
- 20% Build agentic AI workflows that do the admin—drafting the announcement, chasing the tech spec, reconciling the numbers—including prompt design, tool definitions, evaluation and safe write approvals.
- 15% Turn a firehose of data (ticketing, streaming, social, ad spend) into decisions a promoter can act on before lunch.
- 10% Sit with real promoters, watch them work, and delete the steps they should never have had to do.
You'll be successful here if you have
- Expert computer-science fundamentals and 5+ years shipping product that professionals use to run their own business.
- A track record of building a product autonomously—you have taken something from an empty repo to users without a committee telling you what the next ticket was.
- Deep TypeScript and React skills, with Remix, Next.js or an equivalent SSR framework in production.
- Backend depth: event-driven services, AWS serverless (Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Step Functions), and data models that survive a real business.
- Practical LLM engineering—tool use, agent loops, retrieval, evaluation—and a clear head about where an agent must ask before it writes.
- Genuine passion for the music industry. You understand what a promoter actually risks when they book a show.
- Product judgement for dense professional interfaces: you know when a table beats a chart, and when a confirmation beats a toast.
Nice to have
- You work now, or worked recently, at a music company—DICE, Spotify, Bandsintown or similar. This is a strong signal for us.
- Experience with LLM orchestration and the MCP tool protocol.
- Python for data pipelines, forecasting or ML ops.
- Experience with SST.dev, CDK, or other IaC frameworks.
How we work
- Remote-first culture with quarterly in-person hack weeks in London.
- Small, senior team—no heavy management layers, lots of autonomy.
- One-week sprints, async-friendly comms, and fast decision cycles.
- We value clean code, continuous learning, and doing right by artists.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary + meaningful equity.
- Fully remote, with the hours that suit you.
- Infinite paid holiday (+ local public holidays).
- Complimentary gig tickets and backstage passes to all Gotobeat shows.
Hiring process
- Intro chat (30 min) – culture & role fit.
- Technical deep dive (90 min) – architecture discussion & live pairing on a realistic problem (no LeetCode).
- Founders' chat (30 min) – vision, values, and any remaining questions.
Total time from first call to offer: ~2 weeks.
