Yuki Chiba, formerly known by his stage name KOHH, is a pioneering Japanese rapper, singer, and songwriter celebrated for his distinctive J-Rap style. Born on April 22, 1990, in Oji, Kita, Tokyo, Chiba's music is characterized by stark autobiographical lyricism that often reflects his challenging upbringing. He gained international recognition through collaborations with prominent artists such as Keith Ape, Frank Ocean, Utada Hikaru, Mariah Carey, and Megan Thee Stallion, with their 2024 track "Mamushi" debuting on the Billboard Hot 100. After retiring the KOHH moniker around 2020-2021, Chiba relaunched his career under his birth name in 2024, explicitly stating he would no longer perform songs from his previous era. His return was marked by the viral success of "Team Tomodachi" in February 2024, which spawned numerous remixes, including one featuring Will Smith. In 2025, Yuki Chiba signed a comprehensive contract with Warner Music Japan and 300 Entertainment, relocating his operations to Los Angeles, USA. He has had a prolific period, releasing his debut album *STAR* in 2024, followed by *Okuman Choja*, *Eien*, and *separated at birth* (with Stillz) in 2025. He also released singles such as "Shinpai Muyou" in collaboration with VALORANT as the VCT Pacific 2025 anthem, and "Shiawasettenani?" through Warner Music Japan, which serves as a drama theme song. His album *Indigo Blue* was also released in 2025, and he put out the single "Annyeonghaseyo" in 2026.
