Your Mate's Ex is a Manchester-based electroclash duo, comprising Joey and Josh, known for their "sludgy dance pop" with an energetic, unhinged feel. Their sound is characterized by dance-oriented beats, synth melodies, and Joey's vocals, blending retro-futuristic electro, bloghouse spirit, and punk-infused elements, often described as capturing the urgency of the dance club scene. They embrace a strong DIY ethos, handling their own songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, and artwork. Their debut EP, "YMEX - EP," featuring five songs including "Bunny on the Run" and "Get Wet," was released on May 29, 2026.
