Where's Jai is a high-energy pop rock band from Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand, known for their chaotic, fun, and emotionally charged live performances. Formed in 2021, the band is fronted by powerhouse vocalists Grace Allis and Leigh Edmeades, with Michael Walmsley on guitar, Jai Nielsen on bass, and Gene Todd on drums. Their sound is often described as indie-pop/indie-rock, incorporating groove-infused rock with hints of reggae and dreamy pop, and catchy pop melodies blended with blues rock influences. The band released their debut album, "Fresh Out Of Air," in July 2025, which they describe as a "coming of age soundtrack" filled with "racy, Power Pop energy" and relatable lyrics, detailing messy situationships and self-discovery. Following the album's release, they completed a successful five-date North Island tour, including a sold-out show at The Tuning Fork. Their latest endeavor is the single "Be Better," released on November 14, 2025, which explores the theme of burnout behind the pursuit of success. Where's Jai has garnered international attention for their hit single "Perfect Crime," which has nearly a million streams on Spotify, and they have been featured on Live Nation's Ones to Watch. They have also played at various festivals and opened for notable acts like Teenage Dads and Reece Mastin.
