Wavves live history: garage rock • surf rock • noise rock • indie punk
Wavves returned with Spun, their first album since 2021, marking a new chapter for Nathan Williams and longtime bandmates Stephen Pope, Ross Traver, and Alex Gates. Written in the same backyard shed where Williams first began recording, the album captures the band’s mix of raw energy, sharp songwriting, and sunburned punk hooks. The band recently expanded the record with Spun (Deluxe), featuring two B-sides and the Live Wavvy Sessions—five studio performances of “King of the Beach,” “Nine Is God,” “Green Eyes,” “Goner,” and “So Long.” After years of label detours, solo ventures, and the launch of their cannabis brand Wavvy Supply Co., Wavves are back on the road and entering a new era.
