Tokischa live history: dembow • neoperreo
Tokischa, whose full name is Tokischa Altagracia Peralta Juárez, is a Dominican rapper and singer-songwriter known for her provocative and unapologetic style. Born on March 17, 1996, in San Felipe de Puerto Plata, she rose to prominence with her music that primarily draws from Dominican dembow, neoperreo, Latin trap, reggaeton, and hip-hop, often incorporating fast-paced rhythms and explicit, slang-heavy lyrics that explore themes of sexuality, self-expression, and street life. Her bold persona and boundary-pushing content have often been labeled as controversial, yet also liberating, positioning her as an influential figure challenging traditional gender roles in Latin urban genres. In recent endeavors, Tokischa has solidified her global presence. She launched her own record label, SOL, in May 2024, in partnership with Warner Music Latina and with support from Atlantic Records, through which she plans to release her own music and sign new artists. She also signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music in June 2024. Among her latest musical releases in 2025 are singles such as "Thootie," "Tokischa RMX," "MUXAXA," "Te La SingX (Remix)," "Track 4 + Track 14," and "PISCIS". Tokischa has also been active in social and community work, establishing a foundation, also named Sol, to support Dominican women and queer communities. She was the most-streamed female Dominican artist on Spotify as of May 2024, has headlined multiple Pride festivals, and was one of the first female Dominican artists to perform on NPR's Tiny Desk. Demonstrating her continued impact, Tokischa received five nominations at the Premios Lo Nuestro 2026. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with major artists including Rosalía, J Balvin, Madonna, Anuel AA, Ozuna, and Marshmello.
