The Malakites are an indie rock outfit formed in 2019 in Cardiff, South Wales, known for their dynamic fusion of rock and alternative rock with raw energy and emotional lyrics. The band consists of Jacob Webber (lead vocals, guitar), Daniel Rizzo (bass), Thibault Segrott (lead guitar), and Woody Gray (drums). Their sound is characterized by powerful rhythms and gritty guitar riffs, drawing comparisons to bands like Radiohead and Nirvana, while appealing to fans of The Kooks and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Their recent endeavors include the release of singles such as "Lucy" in January 2025 and "Forgotten" in August 2025, with "Forgotten" being the second single from their anticipated debut EP, "Familiar Faces". The Malakites have been actively touring, completing UK tours in 2024 and 2025, and playing consecutive sold-out headline shows in their hometown of Cardiff. They have also supported notable bands like Circa Waves and The K's, including a performance at Cardiff's Tramshed in February 2024. The band has featured at various festivals, including Shiiine On Weekender, BBC 6 Music Fringe Festival, Y Not Festival, and the Isle of Wight Festival, and their music has been lauded on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio UK and US. They also supported The Rogues in Cheltenham in December 2025. The Malakites have expressed intentions for more new music, larger shows, and festival appearances in the spring and summer.
