The Bird Experience, led by composer, singer, and harmonicist Mees Vullings, creates voodoo-infused psychedelic bluesrock 'n soul, characterized by chaotic, hypnotic, and unpredictable live performances. Their sound is a powerful blend of swampy blues and psychedelic elements, with a reckless jazz spirit and the harmonica as a central, expressive instrument. The band has rapidly emerged from the Dutch underground, drawing attention from booking agencies, record labels, and festivals like Roadburn and Bevrijdingsfestival before extensive live play. Their recent endeavors include the release of their debut single "Canto VII," recorded with a twelve-piece band, and another single "She's So Fine." An upcoming self-titled debut album is anticipated, showcasing a range from carnivalistic blues to freaked-out anti-capitalist slow burns and catchy funk. The Bird Experience also has several live shows scheduled in the Netherlands throughout 2026, including appearances at Over De Top Festival and Dijkpop.
