Test Dept. is a pioneering industrial music band formed in London in the early 1980s, recognized for their groundbreaking sound, powerful performances, and engagement with political and social issues. The group, centered around founding members Paul Jamrozy and Gray Cunnington since resurfacing in the mid-2010s, recently signed with Canadian label Artoffact Records. This partnership includes plans to release a new album in 2026. Their latest endeavors also include a series of curated back catalog box sets, with the first titled "INDUSTRIAL OVERTURE: Studio & Live Recordings 1982-1985," which was scheduled for release on December 5, 2025. In late 2025, Test Dept. had live performances scheduled in Helsinki, Finland, and Stockholm, Sweden, and performed at OMBRA Festival Barcelona on December 7, 2025. They are also involved in a soundtrack collaboration with the Gary Clarke Dance Company for their piece "Detention."
