About Sunda Arc

Sunda Arc is an electronic duo comprised of brothers Nick Smart and Jordan Smart, who are also members of the jazz-influenced minimalist group Mammal Hands. Their music blends nu jazz and IDM with influences from techno, electronica, neo-classical, and post-rock genres. They create expansive and compelling soundscapes by integrating acoustic instruments like saxophone, bass clarinet, and piano with analogue synthesizers and custom software patches. Their sound has drawn comparisons to artists such as Jon Hopkins, Rival Consoles, Moderat, and Nils Frahm. Sunda Arc released their debut EP, 'Flicker', in 2018, followed by their debut album, 'Tides', in 2020. Their latest album, 'Night Lands', featuring the single "Distant Siren," was released in November 2022, offering a more introspective and moody collection of tracks. They have performed at notable venues and festivals including the Royal Albert Hall, Jazz Café, and Blue Dot Festival.
