Emerging from the UK hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s, he's known for his laid-back delivery, intricate lyrics about drugs, cooking, and luxurious living. He gained wider recognition with his 2022 album "White Girl Wasted" with The Purist, featuring MF DOOM, Jay Electronica, and DJ Premier. In December 2024, Sonnyjim had a headline show at Stage & Radio in Manchester.
