Smag På Dig Selv live history: dansk pop
Smag På Dig Selv is a Danish trio, formed in 2018, known for their explosive and genre-defying sound that fuses acoustic techno, raw punk energy, jazz, hip-hop, afro-beat, and 90s dance music, creating an intense and euphoric live experience. Comprising Oliver Lauridsen on tenor sax, Thorbjørn Øllgaard on baritone and bass sax, and Albert Holberg on drums, the band challenges traditional genre understanding with their powerful stage presence and activist approach. The group released their critically acclaimed debut album, "SPDS," in April 2024. More recently, Smag På Dig Selv released their second album, "This Is Why We Lost," in March 2026, which is described as a darker, more mature, and emotionally open record with political undertones. In recognition of their compelling performances, they received a Danish Music Award for "Best New Live Act" in 2024. The trio has a busy schedule ahead, with an extensive international tour planned throughout 2026 to support their new album. They have previously played major festivals and showcases, including Roskilde Festival in 2024, where they performed for over 11,000 people, and a variety of international events in 2025 such as SXSW, The Great Escape, and SummerStage NYC.
