About Skrilla

Skrilla, whose real name is Jemille Edwards, is an American rapper hailing from the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, primarily known for his drill and trap music. His musical style is characterized by "raging and rough-edged" melodies, a "woozy, swerving" flow with unexpected pauses, and "eerie" beats, often featuring lyrics about drug use and referencing his Mexican heritage and Santería beliefs. In recent endeavors, Skrilla signed with Priority Records in 2023 and released two albums through the label: "Underworld" (2023) and "Zombie Love Kensington Paradise" (2024). His single "Doot Doot (6 7)" became a viral phenomenon on TikTok in 2025, sparking a widespread trend and significantly boosting his mainstream recognition. In August 2025, Skrilla was arrested during a music video shoot in Kensington after allegedly shooting a police officer with gel pellets from a toy gun, though the officer sustained no injuries. Most recently, in January 2026, Skrilla openly discussed his Santería religious practices, which include animal sacrifice as part of his New Year rituals. He also released a new song and music video titled "RYLO" on January 4, 2026, teasing an upcoming album, "The Face Of Zombie Land".
