Shye live history
Shye is an independent artist crafting a unique blend of dream-pop and soft alt-rock, music that feels like late-night thoughts you can hold onto. Born to an English father and a Singaporean Chinese mother, her sound is shaped by dual heritage and a quiet in-between space shaped by nostalgia. A fully self-taught writer, producer and engineer, she builds her own intimate DIY universe. Shye draws inspiration from the grit and emotional rawness of The Smashing Pumpkins and Alanis Morissette, the melancholic beauty of Cocteau Twins and The Verve as well as the modern psych-pop textures of Tame Impala and Djo. What began as a quiet bedroom passion project grew into something bigger when she won the Vans Musicians Wanted competition at 16. Since then, Shye has released multiple genre-blurring projects that continue to resonate with listeners. Her journey has taken her from bedroom demos to opening for Clairo, Daniel Caesar, Men I Trust and Wisp, to performing across Asia and the United States. With festival appearances across Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan and Texas, each stage continues to shape her confidence as a performer and storyteller. As Shye steps into 2026, she enters a new creative chapter with an upcoming project that pushes her sonic world forward. Dedicated to her DIY roots, she continues refining her craft and exploring new possibilities. Driven by sincerity and emotional depth, Shye makes music for anyone searching for somewhere to land, breathe and feel.
