About Savana Funk

Savana Funk is an electrifying Italian trio, formed in Bologna in 2015, consisting of guitarist Aldo Betto, bassist Blake C.S. Franchetto, and drummer Youssef Ait Bouazza. They are known for their instrumental, groove-driven sound that masterfully blends African rhythms, funk, blues, psychedelic rock, and jazz, creating incendiary jams and strong melodies. The band recently released their sixth album, "Behind The Eyes," on February 20, 2026, which notably features their first vocal tracks and showcases a more introspective and mature sound. This album was preceded by the single "Heron" on January 23, 2026, and features "Ah Folie" as a focus track. In 2025, Savana Funk celebrated their tenth anniversary with extensive international touring, including appearances at Sziget Festival and performances across Europe, the UK, and Indonesia, alongside initiating a collaboration with the New York label Putumayo. Prior to their latest album, they also released the collaborative EP "Raha" with Gaudi in spring 2024, exploring Afro-Cosmic Disco, and the singles "Samsara" and "Wa Zina" (featuring Willie Peyote) in late 2024. They are currently on their "Behind The Eyes Club Tour" across Italy, with confirmed dates through March 2026.
