SALEM is an American electronic music band, originating from Traverse City, Michigan, and recognized as a pioneer of the witch house genre. Formed in 2006 by Heather Marlatt, Jack Donoghue, and John Holland, their sound incorporates elements of electronic, chopped and screwed, dark ambient, hip-hop, shoegaze, trap, and crunk, often characterized by hip-hop drum machines, noise atmospherics, dark synth-pop melodies, dense reverb, and distorted, pitched-down vocals. After their influential debut album "King Night" in 2010 and a period of inactivity, the band, now consisting of Jack Donoghue and John Holland, released their second album "Fires in Heaven" in 2020. Their latest endeavor includes the surprise release of a new, 31-track album titled "Red Dragon" on May 14, 2026, coinciding with a collaboration with Supreme.
