About the artist

Søndag Søndag is a unique collaboration between violinist Katrine Grarup Elbo and pianist Jesper Mechlenburg. The new "Flux Nebula" is recorded in Funkhaus in Berlin (NILS FRAHM) and will be released in May 2025. The album is created in inspiration from the stars and galaxies surrounding us. The infinite vastness of the universe has long fascinated and inspired artists such as Philip Glass, Erik Satie, John Cage, Rued Langgaard, and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Now, with their album FLUX NEBULA, Søndag Søndag presents ten compositions inspired by recent cosmic discoveries—new black holes, mesmerizing images from the James Webb Telescope, and the ethereal beauty of distant galaxies' glowing gas clouds (Flux Nebula). The debut album "Søndag Søndag" from 2021 contains nine emotion-laden compositions. The titles of the records nine compositions are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sunday am and Sunday pm, based on a desire to sprinkle a little Sunday feeling over all days of the week. Katrine Grarup Elbo has studied violin at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen and with Prof. Stephan Picard in Berlin. Katrine lives in Berlin and is a permanent member of the sound collective We like We and the Danish-German string ensemble Tochter. Award-winning film composer Jesper Mechlenburg has for the past 20 years composed music for a large number of films, TV series, theatre productions, and ballets. International album release: May 2, 2025
