Ronker is a Belgian noise rock band formed in 2020, known for coining the term "speed noise" to describe their sound, which blends influences from early hardcore-punk and 90s alternative guitar music, drawing comparisons to bands like Danzig-era Misfits and Helmet. They are recognized for their visceral, urgent, and frantic live performances, having built a strong reputation as a committed rock and roll act. Their debut album, "Fear Is a Funny Thing, Now Smile Like a Big Boy," was released on May 10, 2024, following their 2023 EP "Self Loathing Self Help". Ronker is currently working on a sophomore concept album that promises a more layered and sophisticated sound, equally shaped by artists like David Bowie and Slayer, while retaining their aggressive yet hooky nature with big choruses and riffs. They have upcoming performances scheduled in 2025, including an appearance at Crammerock.
