Reverend And The Makers are an English indie rock band from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, fronted by Jon McClure, known as "The Reverend". Formed in 2005, the band gained prominence with their 2007 debut album, "The State of Things," which reached number five on the UK Albums Chart and featured the top 10 single "Heavyweight Champion of the World". Their musical style fuses indie rock melodies with dance rhythms and electronic textures. In their latest endeavors, Reverend And The Makers released their seventh studio album, "Heatwave in the Cold North," on April 28, 2023, which became their first Top 10 album in the UK in 16 years, peaking at number six on the UK Albums Chart. The band is set to release their eighth studio album, titled "Is This How Happiness Feels?", on April 24, 2026. This upcoming album is described as a blend of vintage soul, uplifting grooves, and sharp modern storytelling. They recently released the single "UFO" in September 2025, which is the third single from their forthcoming album, following "Late Night Phone Call" (released November 15, 2024, as a Christmas charity single benefiting Samaritans) and "Haircut" (released July 17, 2025, featuring English actress Vicky McClure on co-lead vocals). The band celebrated their 20th anniversary with their biggest headline show to date, performing for 30,000 fans at Rock N Roll Circus in Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl. While a November 2024 tour was cancelled due to the passing of Jon McClure's father, they have announced an "Old Socials Clubs Tour" for November and December 2025, and are scheduled for various festival appearances and concerts throughout 2026.
