‘What a Joy’ - Amy Lame, BBC6 Music “Dirty Riff with excellence over the top” - Adam Walton, BBC Introducing Fronted by sister and brother, Cathy and Lloyd Bastian, Pseudo Cool provide their brand of unapologetic ‘Dirty Pop’. They fuse the raw angst of 70s British punk with the hooky melodies of 00s Girlbands, think - The Clash meets Girls Aloud. Ask them to describe their sound, you’ll be met with their mantra, ‘Pink-IS-Punk!’ Named after their dad’s song, Pseudo Cool don't take themselves too seriously. Their childhood living room in Maesteg moonlit as practice space for their dad’s band. On the ‘sofa-stage’ is where the sister-brother duo first experienced performing together. In the kitchen, Lloyd learned his sister’s super cool dance moves, ready for Wednesday night gigs. The line up is completed by fellow 'Made in Maesteg' musicians, Shay Bevan, known for his controversial opinions on sandwiches, and Dylan Howells, who is yet to be seen without sunglasses.
