prettifun, also known as Michael-Raymond Javier Taylor, is an American rapper and producer from Charlotte, North Carolina, recognized for his contributions to underground hip hop and rage rap. His musical style blends rage rap, hyperpop, and melodic trap, characterized by bright synths, distorted 808s, and a maximalist "wall of sound" that has been compared to video game atmospheres. He first gained significant attention in 2024 by producing singles like "Miley Cyrus" and "Pizza Time" for Che, before establishing his own following with albums such as *Pretti* and *FunHouse*. In his recent endeavors, prettifun released *FunHouse Deluxe* in 2025, which has been described as finding the artist in "searing, energetic form". This project followed a period where he briefly stepped back from the spotlight due to personal challenges and the overwhelming attention that came with his rising popularity after his 2024 mixtapes *Pretti* and *FunHouse*. Despite these challenges, he persevered, and *FunHouse Deluxe* brought back his "addictive, hypercolor sound". He was also featured in The FADER's "13 artists we're excited about in 2025".
