Planet Funk is an Italian electronic music ensemble known for blending electronica, house, electronic rock, and alternative dance. Formed in 1999, the group's current members include Marco Baroni, Alex Neri, Alessandro Sommella, Alex Uhlmann, and Dan Black, often featuring various guest vocalists. They gained international recognition with their debut single "Chase the Sun" in 2001, which reached number five on the UK Singles Chart and has been widely adopted in sports culture. Other notable tracks include "Inside All the People," "Who Said (Stuck In The UK)," and "Static." In recent endeavors, Planet Funk released a new single titled "I Get A Rush" on June 6, 2025, a track that also features contributions from the late co-founder and guitarist Domenico "Gigi" Canu, who passed away on May 26, 2025. This followed their 2024 single "Nights in White Satin." The band continues to perform globally, with scheduled live performances from London to Sydney. Additionally, Planet Funk is slated to perform at Venezia Sounds on October 7, 2025, alongside artists like Jovanotti and Subsonica, in support of oncological therapies.
