Penelope Trappes is an Australian-born, Brighton-based vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for her deep, dark ambient and ambient soundscapes, which often fuse elements of folk and goth. Her music is characterized by immersive, meditative, and haunting atmospheres, frequently featuring reverb-heavy arrangements and her hushed, expressive voice. Her latest endeavor is her fifth full-length album, "A Requiem," released in April 2025, which delves into themes of familial history, ancestral roots, and the inevitability of death, created through intense meditative and psychedelic processes. Following this, she is set to release a companion EP titled "Æternum" on October 31, 2025, via One Little Independent Records, featuring seven unreleased compositions from the "A Requiem" sessions that further explore grief, healing, and the passage of time. Trappes has also been scheduled to perform her immersive psychedelia at the Supersonic Festival.
