Paraziții is a prominent Romanian hip-hop group formed in 1994, consisting of Cheloo (Cătălin Ștefan Ion), Ombladon (Bogdan Ionuț Păstacă), and FreakaDaDisk (Petre Urda). They are renowned for their politically charged and often controversial lyrics, frequently addressing social issues and pushing societal boundaries. The group has faced restrictions from the National Audiovisual Council in Romania due to explicit language in their songs and videos. Notable works include songs like "Jos cenzura!" ("Down with Censorship!"), which criticized government censorship, and "Egali din naștere" (Born Equal), for which Ombladon won the Best Romanian Act Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2004. Paraziții has also been involved in campaigns against lip-syncing ("Playback" / "Shoot Yourself") and ignorance among Romanian youth ("Instigation To Culture"). Their music has been featured in various movie soundtracks. Regarding their latest endeavors, Paraziții announced in August 2025 the cancellation of their appearance at the Untold Festival and the suspension of all upcoming live performances. This decision followed a controversial incident involving Cheloo in Bucharest.
