OMI, whose real name is Omar Samuel Pasley, is a Jamaican singer best known for his 2012 hit single "Cheerleader," which gained immense worldwide popularity after its 2014 remix by Felix Jaehn. His music blends reggae, pop, and reggae fusion, also incorporating elements of ska, mento, and dancehall. He released his debut album, *Me 4 U*, in 2015. In recent endeavors, OMI has been celebrating the 10th anniversary of the "Cheerleader" remix with performances, including a show at Camp Fuji in Japan in October 2024, with further dates planned for the UK and Europe. He released a new single titled "Poker Face," which has a visualizer available, and an official video is expected soon. His sophomore album is anticipated to be released in early 2025. In January 2026, he also released a new single called "Standing on Business." OMI has indicated plans for more new music in 2026, intending to fuse pop, reggae, and dancehall elements. He had previously taken a break from music to focus on business ventures such as real estate and architectural design, as well as spending time with his family.
