Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his evocative blend of neoclassical, contemporary classical, and minimalist styles, often incorporating elements of ambient electronics, strings, and piano with loops and beats. His compositions are characterized by their luminous, haunting, and atmospheric beauty. In recent endeavors, Arnalds released "A Dawning," a deeply moving collaborative album with the late Irish singer-songwriter Talos (Eoin French), on July 11, 2025, which evolved into a tribute after French's passing. His experimental techno duo, Kiasmos, with Janus Rasmussen, also released their new album "II" on July 5, 2024. Additionally, he collaborated with Loreen as part of the duo SAGES, releasing an EP in 2025. Looking ahead, a short documentary titled "Like Gravity" is anticipated in 2026, accompanied by its soundtrack. Arnalds has also been involved with his OPIA Community Project, encompassing a travelling festival and record label, in partnership with Decca Records and Wise Music. Since late 2025, he has hosted the radio program "Ultimate Calm" on BBC Radio 3. He has tour dates scheduled for late 2026 across Europe and North America.
