About Now Ex

Now Ex is the musical alias of East London-based artist and acclaimed film director Nick Hampson, who is also a classically trained musician and former child soloist at the Royal Opera. His music is characterized as alternative pop or electronic pop with a distinctive cinematic quality, blending orchestral arrangements with an electronic underscore, and often featuring his unique, almost operatic, and vulnerable vocal style. Now Ex creates vivid, relatable worlds through honest and poetic lyrics that explore themes of melancholic euphoria and the disillusionment of contemporary youth. In recent endeavors, Now Ex released his third EP, *In 2 Minds*, a few weeks prior to May 2025, and brought it on tour across Europe, including a sold-out performance in Hamburg. His "Welcome to the Feeling Tour" in 2024 featured 30 full-band performances across Germany, Prague, Malmö, Copenhagen, the UK, and Mexico City, marking a highly successful year. With the "In 2 Minds Tour" on the horizon, he is currently ushering in the "Gold Era" in four countries, following the "Pink Era" of "Welcome To The Feeling". Now Ex also released music videos for "Artificial Flavours" in August 2024 and "Cold Beds Of Strangers" in December 2023. His work has garnered support from Spotify's Fresh Finds Indie and received radio airplay on BBC and RTE 1.
