Newland is a Dutch songwriter, singer and musician based in the north of The Netherlands. In april 2016 his debut album LOVE AND WAR was released. The single “The man who saved the world” reached number one in the dutch indie charts. His second album, CRADLES AND CROSSES was released in 2018. Followed by VAUDEVILLE AND BURLESQUE (2019) THE EMPEROR OF ICE CREAM (2020), TOMORROWLAND (2020), STAR COLLECTOR (2022), EYECANDY (2023) and TRUST-HOPE-LOVE (2023). In 2024 his 9th album THE SILENT LANGUAGE saw the light of day. Newland is playing live as a band since 2020. under the name NEWLANDSLIDE Newland is switching between styles. Sometimes rocking hard, guitar styled, the next time experimenting with soundscapes, synths and beats. One time contemporary and the next nostalgic. First moving and then in ecstasy. Never a dull moment! Names that come to mind when listening to Newland are David Bowie, XTC, Paul Weller, Joe Jackson, Daryll-Ann, , The Serenes, and The Beatles.
