Nevermore is an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, known for its distinct blend of progressive metal, groove metal, thrash metal, power metal, and heavy metal, characterized by precision musicianship, fearless songwriting, and emotional intensity. Formed in 1992 by vocalist Warrel Dane, bassist Jim Sheppard, and guitarist Jeff Loomis after the dissolution of their previous band Sanctuary, with Van Williams joining on drums in 1994, the band built a global following through critically acclaimed albums such as "Dead Heart in a Dead World" and "This Godless Endeavor". Nevermore went on hiatus in 2011 due to internal issues, and original vocalist Warrel Dane passed away in 2017. In late 2024, Jeff Loomis and Van Williams announced the reformation of Nevermore, and the band has since revealed a new lineup for 2026. The current iteration features Loomis on guitars and Williams on drums, joined by new members Berzan Önen on lead vocals, Jack Cattoi on guitar, and Semir Özerkan on bass. Nevermore has signed with Reigning Phoenix Music and is scheduled for their first live appearance with the new lineup on April 1, 2026, in Istanbul, Turkey. They are also confirmed to perform at Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock Open Air in the summer of 2026. The band has released a documentary film showcasing their January 2026 rehearsals, and Loomis and Williams have expressed excitement about finishing writing and putting together a new Nevermore album.
