MOTHERMARY is an identical twin duo, Elyse and Larena, who create retro-futuristic Art Pop and synth-wave music. Their sound is often described as a unique hybrid of old and new, inspired by 1980s modular synth and drum machine sounds. The duo's artistry is deeply influenced by their experience of leaving the Mormon religion, with their name chosen to symbolize the reclamation of narrative around women, their holiness, and challenging societal expectations. Their debut album, "I Am Your God," was released in January 2022 via Italians Do It Better. This album, featuring tracks like "Coming For You," showcases their distinct blend of ethereal vocals and dark, gritty instrumentation. More recently, MOTHERMARY has released singles such as "Feel" and an EP titled "Non-Duality" in 2025.
