MoBlack live history: afro house • afro tech
MoBlack, born Mimmo Falcone, is an Italian DJ, producer, record label owner, and a significant influencer in the global Afro House and Afro Tech music scene. He gained a unique musical foundation from his years in local radio and a decade living in Ghana, where the MoBlack project originated in 2012. His label, MoBlack Records, established in 2013, is celebrated for its eclectic selection of tracks and its role in promoting local artists, being described as the "dominant imprint of Afro House" by DMC World Magazine. MoBlack is recognized as a pioneer of the Afro House and Afro Tech genres, crafting productions and sets characterized by deep, organic rhythms, hand percussion, weighty bass, and hypnotic vocals. His work is highly supported by prominent DJs such as Black Coffee, Pete Tong, and Solomun. In his latest endeavors, MoBlack recently released "Man On The Moon" in March 2026, a collaboration with Mx Cartier and Neyl, described as a summer-ready anthem featuring lively percussion and shimmering melodic elements. Additional 2026 releases include the single "Kumeleli" and the "Moblack Presents Melodic Nights - EP". His upcoming performances for 2026 include appearances at Les Plages Electroniques in Cannes, France, from August 7-10, and previously listed events in Addis Ababa, Istanbul, and Saint-Tropez. In 2025, he released several singles, including "Beledna," "Sweet Reminder," "Asalam Alaikum," "Mayana," and "I Believe", and performed high-energy Afrohouse sets such as a DAYBREAKER event.
