Miraa May is an Algerian-born, Tottenham-based singer-songwriter known for her honest, frank, and truthful approach to UK R&B and alternative R&B, often incorporating elements of soul, Afrobeats, grime, Algerian rai, and jazz. Her music draws heavily from her North London upbringing and personal experiences. In terms of recent endeavors, Miraa May released a surprise six-track EP titled 'Kind Regards' in November 2024, her first project as an independent artist. This EP was preceded by several singles in 2024, including "Girlfriend," which explores themes of romantic heartbreak and empowerment, "Miskeena," and "No Bad Energy." She also released music videos for "Girlfriend" and "No Bad Energy" in 2024. Looking into 2025, she released the single "Aya" in November, and was featured on "Peace" from the album *Lotus*, "Who Do You Call" from the EP *But Did You Die*, and "Grind & Build" from *Signed & Delivered*. Her song "No Bad Energy" was also featured on the eFootball 2026 soundtrack, with an upload in August 2025. Additionally, she participated in a video interview in February 2025, where she discussed her artistic journey, newfound independence, and the influence of Raï music on her sound. Beyond her solo work, Miraa May has also lent her songwriting talents to other artists, co-writing tracks for Jorja Smith, Mahalia, and Little Simz. She has earned three MOBO nominations for Best Album, Best Female Act, and Best R&B/Soul Act.
