Metrika live history: neoperreo
Metrika, whose real name is Thais Amores García, is a 22-year-old Spanish rapper, singer, and songwriter from Castellón de la Plana, celebrated for her provocative neoperreo sound. Her music blends trap, reggaeton, hip-hop, electronic, hardtech, and Brazilian funk, characterized by explicit and aggressive lyrics that explore strong sexuality, female empowerment, and personal growth, often touching on themes of grief, self-harm, mental health, and toxic relationships. Metrika’s distinctive aesthetic is described as "part Barbie, part vampire," and she openly identifies as a Satanist, which has sometimes drawn public criticism. Primarily collaborating with producer D. Basto, Metrika has rapidly risen in the Spanish urban music scene. Her recent endeavors include the release of her album *Madre Fundadora* in April 2024, followed by a tour of the same name. She released the EP *Jane Doe in the Dream House* in February 2026, featuring tracks like "Virgen Putita" and "Conejita Playboy," and also announced an upcoming album for 2025, with singles such as "Totaína" and "Fumo Escarcha" having been released. Metrika has signed with Universal Music Spain, a significant step in her career. She is scheduled to perform at Sónar 2026 in Barcelona and has another concert planned for June 26, 2026, in València. In June 2025, she notably canceled a performance due to transphobic comments directed at one of her dancers, demonstrating her commitment to social issues.
