Mata, whose real name is Michał Matczak, is a prominent Polish rapper, singer, and songwriter known for his work in pop, hip-hop, and electronic music genres. He gained significant recognition with his debut album "100 dni do matury" in 2020 and further cemented his success with "Młody Matczak" in 2021. In recent endeavors, Mata released two new tracks, "intro" and "up! up! up!", around January 2025. The music video for "up! up! up!" features nostalgic callbacks to his previous work. He also announced a series of concerts for late 2025, under the "TOUR 2024 :)" banner, with dates scheduled in cities like Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Katowice, Sopot, and Warsaw between October and December 2025. Beyond his musical releases, Mata has been expanding his reach internationally. In September 2024, he released the track "LLoret De Mar," which was featured on the soundtrack for "EA Sports FC 25," marking the first time a Polish artist was included in an EA Sports game soundtrack. He also collaborated with Adidas in October 2024, releasing the song "HEAVY" under his alter ego Polak GBP, and met with UK rapper Kairo Keyz for a potential collaboration. Additionally, Mata is an activist who has openly campaigned for the decriminalization of marijuana in Poland, a topic he has explored in his music and public discourse.
