Mariza is a world-renowned Portuguese fado singer, born in Mozambique and raised in Lisbon, celebrated for her powerful and versatile voice that has brought the traditional Portuguese genre to a global audience. Often hailed as a cultural ambassador, she skillfully blends fado's melancholic melodies and poetic lyrics with contemporary influences including jazz, flamenco, and African sounds, creating a unique and emotive style. Over her career spanning more than two decades, she has sold over one million records, earned numerous platinum certifications, received Grammy nominations, and performed in prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
