Manizha is the groundbreaking artist from Tajikistan who became a Russian citizen after fleeing civil war as a child. Her anti-war, pro-peace stance means that she is blacklisted in a Russia. "Gun" follows "Candlelight "as the second single to be taken from Manizha’s new EP ‘Hope’, which is set for release on 14 August 2024 and acts as a light amidst a very dark time for the artist and her fans. Her eclectic art-pop style unites audiences with driving beats, folk-inspired rhythms and soaring melodies. Expect electro, synth and classical inspired tracks, all combined with traditional Tajik soundscapes and folklore-led melodies which take you to another world – a world of freedom, equality and empowerment. Her song 'Russian woman' was the highly controversial Russian entry at Eurovision 2021. Manizha stands against domestic violence and LGBT+ discrimination. She launched the app and then the foundation called SILSILA, which has extended its services to help female refugees and migrants. In 2020 she was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
