Madra Salach is a six-piece alternative folk band from Dublin, formed in 2023, known for their experimental approach to traditional Irish music. The band, whose name means "Dirty Dog" in Irish, blends instruments like mandolin and tin whistle with electronic elements, synths, harmonium, and drums to create a unique sound that has been compared to artists like Lankum and Lisa O'Neill. Their debut EP, "It's a Hell of an Age," was released on January 23, 2026, featuring tracks such as "Blue & Gold" and "I Was Just A Boy," which were released as singles in late 2025. Madra Salach has gained significant attention for their "stirring" and "rapturous" live performances at festivals including Left Of The Dial and Ireland Music Week, and they performed their single "Blue and Gold" on The Tommy Tiernan Show in January 2026. The band has announced an Irish tour and a UK headline tour for 2026, further solidifying their growing presence in the music scene.
