Maddie Ashman is a London-based singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist known for her genre-fluid avant-pop and microtonal music, often incorporating the cello and microtonal guitar. She explores "just intonation" or pure tuning, pushing the boundaries of traditional instruments and forms. In recent endeavors, Ashman announced her debut EP, "Her Side," released in 2026, featuring singles like "Waterlily," "Seraphim," "Jaded," and "In Autumn My Heart Breaks." Her work "Foghar" won the 2024 International Microtonal Guitar Competition, and her string quartet "Gravitation" is regularly performed by the Del Sol Quartet. Ashman has garnered significant attention for her viral microtonal performances, receiving acclaim from artists such as Caroline Polachek and Jacob Collier. She supported King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on their 2025 European rave tour and has appeared with Jon Hopkins.
