About the artist

Lola Young is an English singer-songwriter, born in 2001, known for her powerful, smoky vocals and introspective songwriting that blends indie pop, pop rock, pop soul, R&B, art pop, psychedelia, soul, and jazz. She gained widespread recognition in 2024 with her viral hit single "Messy," which topped the UK Singles Chart and several international charts, after gaining traction on TikTok. Young has released three studio albums, including "This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway" in 2024 and "I'm Only F**king Myself" on September 19, 2025, which featured singles like "One Thing," "Not Like That Anymore," and "Dealer". In 2025, she was nominated for the Brit Award for Best Pop Act and won the Ivor Novello Award for rising star. She also performed "Messy" at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2025. More recently, Lola Young was featured on Tyler, the Creator's eighth studio album, "Chromakopia," released in October 2024. However, in September 2025, she collapsed on stage during a performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York and subsequently announced an indefinite hiatus from all upcoming appearances and tours to focus on herself. In October 2025, she also filed a lawsuit against producer Carter Lang regarding songwriting credits for four of her songs. Young had entered rehab in late 2024 for cocaine addiction and came out as bisexual in 2025.
